| 'Furr-ever Home' Pet Food Drive
  Grove City Pet Pantry

Pet Pantry Partners is the first known collaborative effort of pet food pantries or pet food banks nationwide. Member organizations share their highest mission, to help people with their pets. PPP's goal is to bring awareness to how the economic downturn has caused people to give up their pets due to financial reasons and to show there is a solution to that same issue; how pet food assistance works both locally and nationally in keeping families together and preventing homeless animals.
The Peak Pet Pantry in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Northland Pet Pantry in Smithville, Missouri, Central Florida Animal Pantry in Orlando, Florida and People Care Pet Pantry in Ravenna, Ohio held the first 'Furr-ever Home' National Pet Food Drive together, from November 21, 2009 through January 1, 2010. All four organizations help their community's struggling pet owners by offering temporary pet food assistance to those in need. Together, the pantries hoped to collect at least 20,000 pounds of dog and cat food, with a goal of 5,000 or more pounds per organization, as well as food for other pets. The economy is affecting both people and pets nationwide and people are finding they are forced to get rid of their pets due to rising costs. All of the pantries involved hope to address this problem, bring awareness to it, and show there is a solution by partnering together and forming 'Pet Pantry Partners.'
